I'm sad to hear fantasy writer Robert Jordan passed away yesterday at the age of 58, from complications from primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (cardiac amyloidosis). He was the author of the The Wheel of Time series, which I greatly enjoyed reading.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Let's hope someone really talented can finish the last book [A Memory of Light, book 12 in the series] so everyone can finish the journey [like this Slashdot comment hints at. Walk in the Light Robert, and have a good journey.
